Blizzard Releases New Store 05.05.2008

Blizzard has been an innovative and leading company in the gaming industry for a long time. Now they've once again come out with something new. The Blizzard store has been completely redone, including a new look, and some never before seen features. When browsing their online store, you can sort based on franchise and only view the Diablo related items, buy Blizzard gear, and more. However one of the neatest features is that Blizzard is offering discounted products when you download them instead of buying in the store.

The Starcraft Battlechest runs $20 in the store, you can get Broodwar and Starcraft together as a digital download for just $14.99! This is a great time to get Starcraft if you still haven't played! Another really neat feature is that when viewing the page for a specific game you can view the trailer for that game.

Another great addition here is that you can enter the CD-Keys for the prodcuts you currently own, and gain access to any digital copies available. Currently Wrold of Warcraft is not available for digital download.

Last but not least, when you sign up for a Blizzard Account you have the option of being included in a BETA lottery. When Blizzard randomly selects beta testers, your name is in the hat.

It appears Blizzard is gearing up for one central account system which can provide payment options for all their games, it'll be interesting to see how this unfolds in the near future.
