The Psionic Matrix, also known as Pylon power, is a mysterious power field which is present around Pylons. Pylons are responsible for distributing power to Protoss structures, thus being vital in the functioning of any Protoss base. Should there be buildings that are out of the reach of a Pylon, these would go offline, being deprived of energy. A tactic for crippling enemy defences is destroying the Pylon sustaining them, but the slyer defender would do well to Warp In more than one.
