While the Queens of Brood War were capable of injecting deadly parasites into the body of organic enemies to result in an eventual gruesome death (whereby two little insect-like creatures known as the Broodling would crawl forth), the Swarm Guardian creates the Broodlings when they kill an organic unit with their base attack.
